Look How Big She’s Getting!! June 24, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — laurafair @ 3:40 pm

Grace has grown a ton since her should have been birthday passed on June 4th. If you can’t tell she looks just like Brad and even likes to pose like him. Grace is developing a great personality and we can’t get enough of her. She was recently diagnosed with reflux but since we have that under control now she is happier than ever. I (Laura) went back to work on June 23rd and now Nona Fair is watching her three days a week until August when Grace will go to day care. Nona and Grace are having a great time and Mommy is very sad that she is back at work.

Grace and Pa-Paw June 1, 2008

Grace’s Pa-Paw Fair came for a visit and look what happened!  They matched!!!!!  Don’t they just look so cute?  Grace had to wear her shades because even at a young age she is very fashion forward.

Horray, Grace is so happy Sam is her new friend!! June 1, 2008

Our puppies have been acting totally uninterested in Grace but as this picture shows they really do care.  Sammy crawled under a pillow and poked his head out to check on Grace after he heard her crying for some food.  Grace is lying on her pig that her Great (and Fabulous) Aunt Shelly bought her.  It’s a stuffed animal that folds out into a bed and has been one of my favorite baby items (next to my Avent Microwave Sterilizer).  Grace’s Aunt Adrienne and I like to think about how great our life would be if we got to lay on a pig all day…

Sammy is spying....

Grace’s First Nap In Big Girl Crib May 13, 2008

Doesn’t she look so tiny?  She did enjoy her first nap…momma did not like it that much as we still need to purchase a montior.  Funny thing was that when I went in to check on her Stella was sitting beside the crib whining because she couldn’t see her.  When I took her out of the crib and sat down Stella came running over and sniffed her down to make sure she was okay.  Stella may act like she doen’t care but she does!

Grace’s First Week Home May 11, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — laurafair @ 12:06 am

We were finally able to take Grace home on May 3, 2008 and have been loving every minute of being new parents and enjoying our new family.  Brad was able to take the whole week off to spend with Grace and has already proven to be a natural dad.  Brad’s mom, grandmother, sister, and nephew Gavin came for a visit along with my parents and sisters as well.  Everyone seems to have fallen in love with Grace as much as we have.  I find myself thinking often about just how lucky Brad and I are to have such great family and friends and we truly value all the love and support everyone has given us.   Grace went to the doctor on Tuesday and had gained 8 ounces in four days!!!  She is almost back to her birth weight and eating like crazy!!!

Grace’s Time in the NICU May 10, 2008

For the first nine days of her life Grace was confined to the NICU for having immature lungs and jaundice.  Daddy Brad went back to work so he could save his days off and Mommy Laura spent every waking moment by Grace’s bedside.  We have to thank Laura’s Mom (aka LaLa) for being so great with helping with transportation for Laura to the hospital (since with a c-section you can’t drive for two weeks), cleaning up our house, and going grocery shopping.  Also, my mom did put up with my hormonal meltdowns that came up after growing very very tired of not being able to hold my daughter when I pleased.  The experience of having your child in the NICU and leaving the hospital without our precious girl is one that I would not wish on my worst enemy.  After nine days we finally got to take her HOME where she belongs.
